Published November 28, 2023

Washington, D.C. — The States United Democracy Center (SUDC) today announced that Kim Wyman will be joining its bipartisan Advisory Board. Wyman, a former Republican Secretary of State and a distinguished expert in election security, is the latest addition to a board with deep collective experience in safeguarding democracy and elections.

Reflecting on her recent appointment to the SUDC Advisory Board, Kim Wyman stated, “I am honored to join the States United Democracy Center and work alongside other dedicated individuals who share a commitment to safeguarding our democracy. The critical work that the Center undertakes is instrumental in preserving the foundation of our nation, and I am excited to contribute to these important efforts.”

Wyman served as Washington’s 15th Secretary of State, overseeing the administration of the state’s elections from 2013 to 2021. In November 2021, President Joe Biden appointed her Senior Election Security Advisor for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) within the Department of Homeland Security. Currently, Wyman serves as a Senior Fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center, where she continues to address the workforce crisis and other critical challenges to the upcoming elections. She is also the President of Election Security & Innovation Consulting.

Throughout her career, Wyman has consistently demonstrated a commitment to fair and secure elections, playing a crucial role in bolstering election security measures and strengthening the resilience of the nation’s electoral infrastructure. Her insights and expertise will be instrumental in States United’s mission to protect and promote democracy, and to ensure the security and integrity of elections at the state and national levels.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Kim Wyman to our Advisory Board,” said Joanna Lydgate, President and CEO of States United Democracy Center. “Her extensive background and tireless commitment to protecting the democratic process make her a tremendous asset to our team. Kim’s knowledge and dedication align perfectly with our mission, and we’re eager to collaborate to ensure the vitality of our democracy.”
