Overview
A growing number of Americans believe political violence is acceptable. This trend has real consequences. And it’s not limited to the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Calls for vigilantism around elections continue to proliferate. And unprecedented threats against election officials are putting the safety of our communities and our elections at risk.
The rise in political violence presents new challenges for elected leaders, election officials, and law enforcement agencies alike. States United is helping to support and connect these officials in their efforts to respond to these emerging threats.
In coordination with some of the nation’s top policing experts on our Bipartisan Advisory Board, we advise state and local leaders on how to prevent and respond to political violence.
