Before joining States United, Zonya served as digital coordinator at Women’s Voices for the Earth, a national environmental justice organization. Zonya also served as an advocate coordinator for the Asian Pacific Development Center, where she educated service providers, government agencies, and law enforcement on providing meaningful services to non-Englishspeaking clients and advancing immigrant rights. She also trained community members on using digital media to organize and advocate on issues such as language access, gender-based violence, and human trafficking. She serves on the communications committee for Colorado’s first Family Justice Center and was a council member to an immigration policy advisory board for the Denver district attorney’s office.
