Senior Writer & Content Specialist

Location: Remote

The Senior Writer & Content Specialist will be a creative thinker who can convert complex issues into simple and compelling content that communicates a clear message to a wide range of stakeholders. This position is ideal for someone who has an established background in editorial writing and research for high-profile media outlets.

Counsel

Location: Remote

The Counsel will work with a team of internal and external attorneys, policy experts, and researchers to analyze election and voting laws, provide legal guidance to the organization and state officials, and to bring and support litigation to protect elections, voting, and democracy. 

Deputy Communications Director

Location: Remote

The Deputy Director of Communications will support the development and execution of States United’s long-term and day-to-day communications strategy, including overseeing projects, digital assets, media outreach, messaging research and development, key stakeholder support, and media training.

Legal Department Manager

Location: Remote

The Legal Department Manager will oversee the States United pro bono program and manage all administrative processes and filings for the legal team. This position will work with a team of internal and external attorneys, policy experts, and researchers who analyze election and voting laws, provide legal guidance to the organization and state officials, and bring and support litigation to protect elections, voting, and democracy. 

Press Secretary

Location: Remote

Reporting to the Director of Communications and Strategic Partnerships, the Press Secretary will be a core member of the organization’s growing Communications team. The Press Secretary will focus on media outreach, relationship building, and implementing the organization’s communications strategy.

Project Assistant – Operations

Location: Washington, DC.

The Project Assistant will principally support the Chief Operating Officer, while providing secondary support to other members of the executive team as well as a team of attorneys, policy advisors, and communications professionals.

Project Assistant

Location: Remote

The Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the leadership team member in preparing for daily meetings and events, scheduling, and creating briefing materials, taking notes, drafting agendas, and making travel arrangements among other tasks. The Project Assistant will report directly to the leadership team member.

Research Assistant

Location: Washington, DC.

The Research Assistant will principally support the Research Director, with secondary support to the research team. As a recently launched organization, SUDC is a small and nimble team, empowering Assistants to take on a wide range of responsibilities depending on the staff’s needs. Supporting this fast-paced and dynamic team requires a Research Assistant with a “can-do” attitude, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.

Research Associate

Location: Remote

The research team produces original and actionable research that supports our election protection, accountability, and political violence prevention work. The Research Associate will report to the Research Director.

Paralegal

Location: Remote

The Paralegal will work with a team of internal and external attorneys, policy experts, and researchers to support their work analyzing election and voting laws, providing legal guidance to the organization and state officials, and bringing litigation to protect elections, voting, and democracy.
