Open Positions

Counsel | Preventing Political Violence

Location: Remote

The PPV portfolio partners closely with other organizations, law enforcement experts, researchers, social scientists, and communications professionals to expand and enhance the PPV tools available to state and local officials, including legal and policy guidance, best practices, and litigation.

Development Associate

Location: Boston, MA

Reporting to the COO, the Development Associate will be an essential member in the organization, helping to manage, track, and maintain key donor relationships. The Development Associate will track commitments and donations, assist in budgeting, and design a donor engagement process. The Development Associate will also work very closely with the CEO to support all fundraising activities.

This position will be based in our Boston, MA office on a hybrid schedule and will require the individual to travel, as needed.

Director of People

Location: Remote

The Director of People will be the subject matter expert on all things human resources which includes but is not limited to, performance management, learning and development, organizational design, talent acquisition, talent engagement and retention, succession planning, talent relations, talent operations (e.g. payroll, benefits, People systems), and total rewards.

Press Secretary

Location: Remote

The Press Secretary will be a core member of the organization’s growing Communications team. This role will focus on media outreach, relationship building, and implementing States United’s communication strategy to shape narratives about free, fair, and secure elections in key regions of the country.

Project Assistant | Executive Chair of the Board

Location: Remote

The Project Assistant will principally support the Executive Chair of the Board, while providing secondary support to a team of attorneys, policy advisors, and communications professionals.

Project Assistant | State Engagement

Location: Remote

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, State Engagement, the Project Assistant will be, primarily, responsible for scheduling, preparing for daily meetings and events, creating briefing materials, taking notes, drafting agendas, and making travel arrangements, among other administrative tasks. The Project Assistant also will conduct online research, prepare background memos, and help manage external relationships and provide support to state partners.

Social Media Associate

Location: Remote

The Social Media Associate will support the communications team in amplifying States United’s message on social media, managing our Twitter and Facebook accounts, and assist in the development of new strategies to highlight our work on existing and new platforms, and making sure our channels are a useful resource for journalists, elected officials, and the public.
